Ear Wax Removal

Blocked ears can be frustrating and isolating. If you are struggling to hear conversations, turning the TV up louder or feeling cut off from people around you, our pharmacy team can help assess your ears and advise whether microsuction may be suitable.

      Why microsuction?

Microsuction allows the clinician to see inside the ear while removing wax, making it a controlled and precise option compared with using drops alone.

Is this better than ear drops?

The service may be suitable for adults looking for additional support with weight management alongside lifestyle changes. The pharmacist will help advise on the most appropriate next steps.

What symptoms can ear wax cause?

Weight management is not just about starting treatment. The pharmacy team can provide ongoing support, monitoring and guidance where appropriate throughout your journey.

      What happens during the appointment?

The pharmacy team will check your ears and explain what they can see. If microsuction is suitable, they will remove the wax using specialist equipment in a private consultation setting.

To help achieve the best results, we recommend using olive oil drops for at least four days before your appointment.

      Is it safe?

Microsuction is widely used and does not involve flushing water into the ear. The pharmacist will check suitability first and advise if another route is safer.

      How much does it cost?

Microsuction ear wax removal appointments are charged at a fixed appointment fee. Please speak with the pharmacy team or check the booking system for current pricing and availability.

Frequently asked questions

We’ve got all the answers. If you still need assistance reach out to our friendly support below

How do I collect my NHS prescription medication?

You can collect your prescription medication from the pharmacy. You can choose to pick it up in person or, in some cases, have it delivered to your home.

Can you deliver my prescription/s and is it it free?

We are happy to deliver your prescription to you. There is a small fee of £5 per delivery, (not per item), and we can deliver over the counter items at the same time for no extra fee.

Can I get a repeat prescription for a medicine?

Yes, if your doctor has authorized it, you can get repeat prescriptions. Your pharmacy can set up a system to automatically refill your prescription when it's due.

      Is a car park available

Street parking is available near the pharmacy, although availability and charges may vary depending on the time of day. There is also a council car park around one minute from the pharmacy.

Please check local signage for current parking restrictions and charges.

How much does the delivery service cost?

We charge just £5 for deliveries. We're happy to deliver pharmacy products as well as prescription medicines. We can deliver

over-the-counter at the same time as your prescription all for just the one fee.

Can I move my prescription/s to your pharmacy?

Yes, you can transfer your prescription from one pharmacy to another. Simply provide the new pharmacy with your prescription details, and they will arrange the transfer for you. Alternatively, use the app to select our pharmacy to dispense your prescriptions.

When will my prescription be ready?

Please allow 48 hours for ypour prescription to be available for collection.

Repeat orders that require delivery will go out on the next delivery slot after the prescription is ready.

If you provided your email we can notify you by email when your precription is ready to collect, so you never have to worry.

Do I have to pay for my prescription

Some patients qualify for free NHS prescriptions, while others pay the standard NHS prescription charge. If you take regular medication, our pharmacy team can advise whether a Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) could help reduce your costs.

Private prescriptions are charged differently and the cost will depend on the medicine prescribed, as well as any applicable dispensing fees.

Our pharmacy team are here to help and can talk you through the options available, including ways to keep the cost of repeat medication as low as possible.
